Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were given a 2-year ban in the wake of their fight at the 2019 VGMAs, but that suspension has now been lifted. As a result, Shatta has not participated in the event and has declared his boycott of the award program.
However, since he expressed interest in the plan, Stonebwoy has been earning nominations for the succeeding editions and even won the Reggae Dancehall song of the Year award at the 23rd VGMAs.
According to Shatta, he will only take part in the awards program if an agreement is reached between him and the organizers.
“VGMA is my ex-girlfriend; whenever they want to get back together, I’m here.” They are the ones planning it, thus there ought to be a pleasant approach, in my opinion. It will be lovely if they can also locate someone from the office to come and invite me to join. We must realize that when we are unified, we are stronger than when we are separated, he remarked on Hitz FM.
Shatta underlines that he doesn’t see the plan as an enemy and, as a result, he thinks that when his suggested actions are taken into account, both sides can produce something beautiful.
I have no animosity toward VGMA and no enemies there. Simply put, events take place, and we move on. We must comprehend that when we stand together, we stand tall, he remarked.
