Following Saturday’s 2-0 loss to West Ham, which dropped Everton to 19th place in the Premier League and left them without a victory in 10 games in all competitions, Lampard was fired as manager.

Following Lampard’s sacking, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri watched his first game since October 2021 as the Toffees lost at the London Stadium, their third straight league loss.

The former Chelsea manager joined Everton in January 2022, and although helping the team avoid the relegation zone last season, he leaves Goodison Park with the division’s worst win percentage with 15 points from 20 games and three victories.

The only team below Everton on goal differential is Southampton, who are currently in 19th place.

As Jarrod Bowen’s double doomed their team to defeat, Everton supporters demonstrated against the club’s management, but the board’s response was to fire Lampard.
