During Saturday’s Premier League game, the Spaniard was all praise for Ayew and his partner Wilfred Zaha.

Thanks to striker Erling Haaland’s late second-half penalty, Manchester City overcame Crystal Palace 1-0.

But, the Cityzens had a difficult time at Selhurst Park, where they struggled for long stretches before making a breakthrough.

Guardiola spared special admiration for Crystal Palace’s offensive tandem of Ayew and Zaha in his post-game remarks.

“Playing in this area [Selhurst Park] is never easy. Although we usually feel confident when playing at home, the Manchester City manager told Sky Sports, as reported by Ghanaweb, “I always have this conviction that it is always tricky here.

“It’s amazing how they play and move. Zaha and Jordan Ayew are both outstanding athletes. They are always moving and making room for the team.

Ayew has had a difficult season thus far in front of goal, scoring just once in 26 Premier League contests.

Patrick Vieira, the team’s manager, continues to select the Ghanaian for his starting lineups, indicating that he still has Vieira’s confidence.

Ayew is now a member of Ghana coach Chris Hughton’s first 25-man roster for the two-legged AFCON qualifier against Angola.
